TSS – Chapter 24: Leaving the Capital.

Translator: Haruto.

One week later, we finally decide to leave. Our sojourn in the capital should have only lasted one week, but it ended up lasting twice as long.

The other members of the royal family have been exiled. I don’t know how it happened exactly, but what’s important is that Haruka-san has now become the queen of Archaia. She really is amazing.

As for Zizinha, he’s being held in an extremely secure cell underneath the castle that nullifies magic. And that’s probably where he’s going to spend the rest of his days.

“Alize-sama, Lulune-sama, Mia-sama… Thank you for everything,” Haruka-san says, bowing her head to us outside of the town’s walls. A crowd of onlookers has formed behind her.

“Thank you too, Haruka-san. You treated us to some great pancakes and we had plenty of fun with you here.”

“I’m glad you feel that way, Alize-sama. I also enjoyed the time I spent with the three of you. Honestly, thank you so much for coming,” Haruka-san says with a sweet smile on her face.

Mia walks over to her and holds her hands tightly. “I’m sure you’ll do great, Haruka-san!!”

“Thank you, Mia-san. I have the support of my people, so I think I’ll be okay.”

Cutting the conversation short, Lulune turns around and says, “We should go now. I want to enter the Republic of Nysalis before the sun sets.”

“Haha, you sure are acting tough, but it’s obvious you don’t want to leave, Lulune,” I tease her.

“…Uhh… O-Okay, yeah, I’d be lying if I said I’m not feeling sad to leave, but we really are in a hurry.”

Lulune tends to hide how she actually feels, however, I can tell at a glance that she’s on the verge of tears.

“I’m sorry for delaying your departure… Goodbye.” Haruka-san smiles and bows to us one more time.

The people behind her tell us to come back again soon and that we’ll always be welcome here. Their kindness warms my heart. I turn around and hop on Kamia’s back.

“Let’s meet again someday.”

And with those parting words, we leave the capital of Archaia behind and head towards the Republic of Nysalis.

***

I, Ayesha, find myself completely alone in the sky castle.

Since the sky castle is powered by our mana, one of the heroes must remain inside to keep it levitating. It won’t instantly come crashing down if we all leave, of course, but it definitely won’t stay more than a month in the sky by itself.

That is why, after losing in rock-paper-scissors, I had no choice but to stay here while Akane and Nina go to Sapientia. The thought of them finding Alize-san without me fills me with frustration, but they beat me fair and square so there’s nothing I can do about it.

Haa…” I let out a sigh without thinking.

…I wish Alize-san would take a wrong turn somewhere and arrive here in the Republic of Nysalis…

As I hope for such a thing to occur, I continue working on my regular tasks.

***

I, Nina, have had to endure Akane’s constant complaining for a while now. We’re currently sitting at a bar, and she’s downing whiskey after whiskey as she keeps grumbling at the top of her voice.

“Aagh! I can’t believe we haven’t found him! Did Mia trick us again?!”

“…Probably. But without the sky castle, it’ll take us a while to return to Nysalis.”

“Yeah, I know… Haa…  Oh well, seeing how we already made the trip, I guess we can keep looking for him a bit more.”

I nod in approval. This nation has lots of peculiar dishes so we can also enjoy ourselves with a little sightseeing while we’re here.

“Still, if he’s really not here, where in the world is Alize-san?” Akane wonders.

“…Wait, perhaps the reason why Lulune stayed in Arcana was actually…”

Hearing me say that, Akane jumps with a start and shouts, “That’s it! That’s gotta be it! Lulune must have found Alize and wanted to keep him all to herself!”

“In that case, should we travel to Arcana instead of returning to Nysalis?”

“Yup, let’s do that. There’s no reason to stay here anymore. Let’s depart right away!” she exclaims, standing from her seat but also struggling to stay on her feet due to the alcohol she drank.

She knows she’s a lightweight, but she still chooses to drink. What a handful.

As I let out a small sigh, a certain thought flashes through my mind…

I don’t know why, but I don’t think we’ll be seeing Alize-san any time soon.
