After waking up from my nap in the limousine, I find myself in an unknown parking lot… Did I make Hibari mad without knowing and now she’s going to punish me for it…?

“We’re going to buy the things you’ll need for the school camp.”

“Right, of course…”

Hibari has apparently taken me to a very convenient place that sells pretty much everything I’ll need: a shopping mall. Since we left the limousine at a free parking spot not too far away, it takes us a short walk to get to the main building. And once we step through the west entrance, we’re welcomed by a large space, filled to the brim with various stores.

“It really is a shopping mall. Thank goodness,” I say, relieved, and Hibari directs an exasperated look at me.

“Where did you think I was taking you?”

“Huh? I kind of thought I had done something to piss you off and that you were taking me into some strange building where you’d imprison me and whip me to your heart’s content…”

“Surely you jest. I have no time to be doing such a thing.”

“Right.”

“It appears you’ve watched way too many of those weird videos, Yuuji-sama. Honestly, are you a dummy, a dumdum… a ding-dong?”

“Alright, alright, I’m sorry—Hold on! What’s up with that last thing you said?! If that’s an indirect way of asking me whether I’ve got one or not, the answer’s I do!”

“…Pfff!”

“It’s seriously amazing how only your mouth moves when you laugh at my expense!!”

To reiterate, I do have one, and it’s pretty big! Although, I really only inherited it from the old Kasashima Yuuji.

“Ahem. All jokes aside…”

“You started it, Hibari.”

“Today we’ll buy you new undergarments, towels, a travel toothbrush kit, and some shampoo and conditioner.”

“Huh. That’s a lot of stuff. The toothbrush kit and shampoo make sense, but why can’t I take the towels and underwear I’ve got at home? Are we really going to buy new ones just for the school camp?”

“Yes, I believe we should.”

“Alright…”

Well, I’m going to spend the night with a bunch of my classmates so it wouldn’t hurt to buy some new things and be as clean as I can be.

“Besides, all your undergarments are so expensive they seem to be made of gold, which may cause some discomfort and jealousy among your peers. Therefore, you should buy regular clothes like the ones your classmates will probably wear.”

“Gold underwear would cause anyone discomfort.”

“Ah, how rude of me to mislabel them like that. Your undergarments are not made of gold, they’re just crusty, correct?”   

“That’s even ruder!!”

Good grief. I’m not the type of guy that spanks the monkey every night… Although…

…Nah, no way, right? I mean, Hibari does my laundry for me so I can’t say for sure, but there’s no way my boxers are crusty, right?

“This is the place, Yuuji-sama. They sell everyone’s favorite off-brand undergarments here.”

“I’ve never had so many conflicting feelings about entering a store.”

“How sad. Anyway, you can take your time choosing the ones you want.”

“Alright. And where are you going?” I ask Hibari as she begins to walk away from me.

“I’d like to visit the lingerie store next door.”

“Ah, so you wanted to do some shopping for yourself, too.”

“Yes, would you like me to buy some for you as well while I’m at it?

“No, thanks… Wearing women’s lingerie in front of the entire class would probably land me straight in jail.”

“…Certainly, but that’s enough messing around. I’ll see you in a bit.”

“Alright.”

Hibari then enters the lingerie store while I step into the men’s underwear shop.

By the way, is it just me or is Hibari more talkative than usual today? Is she in a good mood or something?

“I’m all set, Hibari… Oh?”

A few minutes later, I finish paying for my new underwear and towels, and go outside looking for Hibari, but—

“…”

She’s taking a look around a store that sells accessories.

“I’d feel bad for interrupting…”

I decide to sit on a sofa nearby.  

I’ve never been interested in that kind of stuff, so I’ve got no idea which accessories girls fancy the most… Perhaps I should do some research in case I ever get a girlfriend. I could even ask Hibari to…

“…Hm?”

I turn to Hibari again and notice that she’s stopped in front of a certain section of the store. Considering how intently she’s staring at it, she must really like the accessory she’s got in front of her. I can’t tell what it is from here though, so…

“Did you find something you like?”

“Y-You startled me. Please don’t talk to me out of nowhere like that…”

“Ah, my bad.”

She was so focused on it that she didn’t even notice me approaching? Now I really wanna know what kind of accessory she was—

“Time to go, Yuuji-sama.”

“Huh? Hold on. You’re not going to buy anything?”

“No, I was just looking…” Hibari says and leaves the store in a hurry.

I wanted to put it on the list of potential birthday presents for her, but in the end, I couldn’t figure out which accessory exactly was she looking at.

It doesn’t feel right to ask her directly, so I just leave the store too. Once outside, my eyes fall on a peculiar signboard…

“Huh, so different accessories can symbolize various things…”

After buying everything we needed, we took a stroll around the mall while doing some window shopping as well.

“Hm. It’s gotten kind of late. Should we go home now?”

“Yes. We need to hold your bath time practice.”

“…I’ve heard the strangest things come out of your mouth today, Hibari.”

What the heck does bath time practice even mean? Like practicing taking a bath with other people? I do always bathe by myself, but…

“…Just so you know, there won’t be mixed baths.”

“Even so, won’t you be bathing with Yuito-sama?”

“I mean, Yuito is a guy too, so yeah… But bathing with other guys is nothing out of this world… Hold on a second, Hibari… are you perhaps doubting that Yuito’s a guy?”

Does she think that Yuito is secretly a girl or something like that?

“Come on, he wears a men’s uniform and he totally looks like a dude. I know he can act like a girl from time to time, but…”

“…Did you make sure?”

“Huh?”

Hibari draws her face close to mine.

“Did you make sure…?”

“Make sure…?”

“…that he has a ding-dong…”

“…” I furrow my brows.

He took his belt off during lunch break today, but I didn’t actually see his you-know-what…

“Yuuji-sama…”

“Y-Yes?!”

“Yuito-sama’s a girl until proven otherwise.”

“Why the heck is that strangely convincing?!”

I’m starting to sweat for some reason!

“No way! He’s a dude! And even if he isn’t… um, I bet it’ll be fine! No, wait! He’s definitely a dude! I’m sure of it! That’s why we don’t need any bath time practice!!”

“I see. So you don’t want to bathe with me.”

I got so heated up that I turned her down without thinking. Damn it! I wanted to bathe with a beautiful maid at least once in my life!!

“I must say though, you’ve really been rather talkative today, Hibari. Is it because you know you’ll miss me while I’m gone? Just kidding. Hahaha!”

Well, that’d also explain why she wanted us to spend time at the mall instead of just ordering all this stuff online.

“…”

“Wait, really?”

Hibari hasn’t said anything but it seems I’m right. Her serious expression turned into one of surprise for a second, as though I had hit the nail right on the head.

“If you ever feel lonely, you can just give me a call, alright?” I say with a smile and resume walking.

“No, I want you to focus on enjoying the school camp, Yuuji-sama.”

“Is that so…”

“But…”

“Hm?”

“When you get back… could you please take me somewhere nice again?”

Hibari’s unexpected request stops me in my tracks. I turn to her and she’s watching me with clear expectation in her eyes.

“Haha. You’ve gotten more honest with your feelings, Hibari.”

“Is that wrong?”

“Not at all. It makes me happy. Next time, I’ll take you somewhere you’ll enjoy even more than the amusement park or the mall.”

“Please do,” she says, and the corners of her mouth curve into a soft smile.

I feel like she’s been smiling a little more often these days.
